I have been role playing since the age of sixteen. I began with Dungeons and Dragons games before branching out into various areas of creativity. I have played in medevil, modern and futuristic settings. I have played realistic role playing games, historical, and fantasy. If you name a certain kind of supernatural creature, I have likely either played along side that character in a chronicle, or I have played the character type myself.
I began getting interested in role playing Dungeons and Dragons with some friends of mine after I played some of the very early Dungeons and Dragons computer games. What drew me towards this hobby was the idea of taking fantasy a step further and breathing life into my characters, and playing them in a plot outside of my control with my friends and acquaintances.
I loved chose your own adventure books when I was a kid. I also love television shows like who's line is it anyway. There was something about shows that were unplanned and unscripted that drew me in and captivated me in a different way then television shows and movies where everything is planned out and practiced carefully before hand. Its not that I do not appreciate these kinds of shows, it is just that watching what people do when they are unprepared is completely awesome.
It's nineteen years later, and I still enjoy role playing. Gaming is one of my passions. I enjoy both the immersing myself into a fantasy world, and the connections that I have made with various people over the years. I have learned a lot as I have participated in these various games. Some of these lessons were about the world, some were about the nature of people, and some of them were about me.
